Among the better-known properties is Villa Gioli, the country home of painters Francesco and Luigi Gioli and a gathering place for artists connected with the Macchiaioli movement. Actress Marta Abba, who had a long personal and professional relationship with Luigi Pirandello, later lived at Villa Trovarsi in Fauglia.
