First recorded in the Domesday Book of 1086, the estate was later remodelled in the Gothic Revival style before being converted into private residences in the twentieth century. Today, it sits within the Surrey Hills, approximately 25 miles from central London.

The 247 acre estate is nestled within the Dartmoor National Park, with the grand country house set at the end of a kilometre-long drive winding through woodland and pasture.

The land was once held by the Earl Alwin, one of the lords of the Kingswood Forest, a royal forest used by the king for hunting grounds. It was mentioned in the Domesday Book, a survey of King William the Conqueror’s lands, completed in 1086.
